Professional Development Courses for Teachers

Our teacher courses are are self-guided, entirely online and flexible which means they can be completed any time that suits each teacher and school. They can also be completed collaboratively as a whole staff for a formation and/ore reflection day.

Each course has approximately 6 sessions with approximate times listed to support the scheduling of learning.

All that you will need is a device, headphones and a journal for your reflections throughout.

At the completion of the course, you will be provided with a certificate which you can use towards your accreditation and evidence of learning.

What are Teachers saying?

Little Earthies is filled with many rich activities and information to increase faculty and student knowledge of Care for Our Common Home. The program offers guidance to any school or educational program hoping to improve the environment’s care and sustainability. Our school implemented Year 1 of the program and the entire community looks forward to adding the other years to our curriculum. We highly recommend every education setting to adopt this program for the betterment of your school and our care for our common home – the Earth.

Thank you for having such courses available - so relevant to the work I do (Outdoor Education Teacher) and students find this connection to the Catholic ethos so appropriate for where they are at and a way to keep them connected to the Catholic faith.

Cate, Teacher - Melbourne AustraliaOctober 2025

This is the very first time I have engaged in a little earthies online course.,I found the content and reflection tasks process exceptional. It certainly encouraged me to engage in both personal and professional reflective practices, fostered my curiosity to explore and find out and enabled me to engage at my own pace and in a time that worked well for me.

Michelle, Teacher - AustraliaSeptember 2025

Little Earthies was great for those students who are interested in ecological sustainability. It allowed them to be proactive and to have a real impact within the school. I regularly reinforced that they are the greatest agents of change within the school community.

Peter, Student Module Facilitator / Teacher - AustraliaJune 2025

The course was very thought provoking and relevant to today's environmental issues. My favorite part of the course was reflecting on how we can incorporate Laudato Si in our classrooms.

Taylor, Teacher - USAApril 2025

I am glad I took this course because the information is relevant to what is happening globally. I like that it emphasized that if everyone started to make manageable changes, the domino effect would kick in! There is something we can all do to make a difference. Thank you for making this course available!

Jeanne, Teacher - USAMarch 2025

I enjoyed reflecting on what I can do as a leader in a school to prompt students to think around this issue, and to do better, and to spread the important messages. Content was good, self pace was good, information was interesting and presented well in bite size modules.

Renee, Deputy Principal and Learning and Teaching Leader - AustraliaDecember 2024
